françaisFew things can immediately sooth our achy muscles and relax our busy minds like a sauna. Health professionals worldwide recognize the benefits of saunas to promote blood circulation; to relief aches, pains, and general stiffness; to eliminate body toxins by promoting perspiration; and even to help burn some unwanted calories. While traditional saunas provide such benefits, they typically operate at uncomfortably hot temperatures, sometimes in excess of 180F. This makes them inaccessible for the elderly or those with asthma or other breathing or cardiovascular problems who could otherwise benefit the most from sauna heat therapy.

Far-infrared saunas offer the excellent, completely safe solution. They operate at far lower temperatures, usually in the range of 110 to 130F, yet still offer all of the benefits of a traditional sauna. An infrared sauna heats the body with radiant heat, creating deep tissue warming and profuse sweating. However, the air surrounding you remains more comfortable, creating relaxing stress-free environment where you can listen to music, read a book, or just relax and forget about the busyness of everyday life. Most importantly, infrared saunas are completely safe.

Important information:
Drink around Twelve ounces of water for every 15 minutes you are in the sauna
(drink lots of fluid!!).

Showering prior to using the sauna can increase the amount you sweat.

Bathing attire is suggested but shorts and a t-shirt are fine.

At any point during your sauna if you do not feel well, leave immediately! If your skin becomes clammy, you feel weak, tired, or nauseous, STOP immediately! These could be the signs of heat exhaustion.

Do not attempt to self-treat any disease with sauna therapy without first consulting a physician. Consult with your personal physician before using any sauna.

If you are taking a prescription drug, check with a physician or pharmacist for any possible change in drug’s effect due to any interaction with infrared energy.

Do not use any sauna:
If Pregnant or are nursing.
If you are a Hemophiliac or anyone with a predisposition to hemorrhage
If you have enclosed infections (dental, joints, tissue).
With artificial joints, metal pins, or any other implants.
With Silicone implants (may melt at higher temperatures).
If you are heat intolerant and do not sweat even with vigorous exercise
If there is a history of SLE (systemic lupus erythematous)
