Physiotherapy is a well-recognized,
self-regulated health care profession concerned with injury prevention, activity and performance enhancement and rehabilitation from Illness or Injury. Physiotherapists work closely with other health care professionals and clinical support staff to optimize their client's potential for recovery and enhance the rehabilitation process.
Safe and early return to activity (including sport and work) is our common goal.
Physiotherapy includes:
• Physical assessment of the illness/injury by a Registered Physiotherapist
• Development of an individualized treatment plan
• Physiotherapy treatment consisting of manual therapy, electrotherapy, exercise
..for stretching, strengthening and conditioning, education and discharge recommendations
• Regular reassessment of each client's status to ensure that ongoing treatment
..is necessary and "evidence based"
• Communication and follow-up with the client and other stakeholders to ensure an outcome ..that is durable over time
